Outreach/Lab Activities

Imagine Day 2023: Tre DiPassio, Jenna Rutowski, Ben Thompson and I led an exhibit called “The Science of Sound” at Manor Intermediate School in the Honeoye Falls-Lima School District.

Some definitely-not-staged photos from March 2024 of Mike, Ben, and Jenna in the lab. These were taken as part of the webpage update for the Rochester AME program.

Ben, Jenna, Tre, and Yunji traveled with Dr. Heilemann to East High School in the Rochester City School District to lead a two-day course on Audio Engineering in the July 2024 as part of the Broad Exposure to Science and Technology (BEST) Program organized by the Laboratory for Laser Energetics at the U of R. What a fun experience! This was the first major outreach initiative from the ECE DEI Committee. Thank you to Tre for helping to organize the event!

Ben Thompson was first author on the “Best Student Paper” at the 157th Convention of the Audio Engineering Society (AES) in October 2024. The authors on the paper (Ben, Jenna, Tre and I) are pictured receiving the award from AES President Leslie Gaston-Bird.
